Happy New Year! 2018 boi! Anyway, back to the review.
CarPlay is software (developed by Apple) that uses your iPhone to project onto the touchscreen in your car. Obviously not all cars have touchscreen, so CarPlay wouldn’t work with them. And also some cars with touchscreens don’t have CarPlay. For example, when I went on holiday to Romania, we had use of a Ford Focus. This had CarPlay. So my dad connected his phone via a USB cable. Then you select CarPlay in your car’s screen. It will come up with a menu, with some of the apps on your phone (ones that CarPlay recognises) for example Spotify.

You can read messages.

Use Apple Maps

Play music, take and make phone calls etc.

I think that CarPlay is a useful resource, however if you are driving and using CarPlay, make sure you keep an eye on the road. If you are in the passenger seat, go for it! Some other cars compatible with CarPlay are (there are quite a few more):
